Membership
Why should I join Nidderdale Plus?
Nidderdale Plus does not seek to supplant the normal channels of local government, nor to impose solutions which other, statutory bodies are better equipped to provide. But there are many funding schemes that are not open to Government, statutory or politically-based organisations. Increasingly, these Funders demand evidence of community support for projects before they will advance grant aid.
Nidderdale Plus is often asked to provide letters of endorsement for schemes applying for such grants, and the larger the Partnership's membership, the more it can speak as an authoritative body on the community's behalf. In addition, as a democratic and apolitical organisation, the Partnership is well -placed to provide an independent forum for like-minded people to meet and share experiences and aspirations.
If you become a member, how much you become involved will be up to YOU - there is no demand upon your time over and above that which you are prepared to give. But some members can and do seek to become actively involved, not only at the project level but also as a Member of the Directors of the Board. For those willing to do so, we offer an interesting and fulfilling experience!
